Naboom Hunt in Limpopo with Let's Go Hunting

This page is exclusively for all local South African hunters! Rest assure here you will be charged in Rand and we cater for everybody’s needs!

Naboomspruit, Limpopo Province

The farm is middleveld lying 3600 feet above sea level. The veld is of four main types, mixed red bush willow, Terminalia, red syringa and mixed thornveld. The top soil is 2 meters with 30 meters of underlying clay. Although the topsoil is sandy which drains quickly the clay supplies moisture which makes the farm well Wooded and with big trees.

The big trees include common fig, marula, lead wood, boekenhout, red syringa, black monkey thorn and terminalia. There is a wide non-perennial river with forests of tambotie, some old and gnarled. The eastern Foot of the Waterberg lies on the west and the Nylsvlei system on the east. The drainage runs from the mountains down to Nylsvlei in lanes with open grass bordered by strips of bush. There are natural flood plains with islands of vegetation, mostly common fig, which have grown out of ant heaps.

And of course the farm’s name is Naboomfontein which means there are lots of old Nabooms (Euphorbia’s) and summer sedges or fountains. The average rainfall is 550mm but there are years of feast or famine. The summer can be dry or very wet particularly when the streams from the mountains spread out in undefined channels.
